Mr. Harry "Byron" Pugh Jr., 74, of Bartlesville, died at his home in Bartlesville at 8:45 A.M. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 after a two year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Funeral services for Mr. Pugh will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, May 21, 2018 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Wright of the First Baptist Church in Dewey officiating.

Interment will be in the Oglesby Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday as the casket will remain closed at the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the ALS Foundation, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, Iowa 50037.

Mr. Pugh was born at Oglesby, Oklahoma on February 9, 1944 to Harry Byron Pugh Sr. and Helen Phyllis (Atkins) Pugh. He grew up and received his education in Oglesby and then Ramona High School where he graduated in 1962. He began his employment in the mail room at Phillips Petroleum Company on June 14, 1962, working in Bartlesville his entire career with the exception of one year in London, England. He retired from Phillips on March 29, 1999 as the Director of Procurement. He was married to Margel Annette Jett on March 8, 1968 at Stillwell, Oklahoma. They have made their home in Bartlesville since that time except for the year in England. Mr. Pugh was self-taught on computers, which he liked to build and work on and assist other people with theirs. Since 1999 he has been very active at the Jane Phillips Medical Center Fitness facility. He loved photography, gardening, coin collecting, traveling and going on cruises.

Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife, Margel of the home, two sons, Tim Pugh and fiance Carla Taber of Collinsville and Ted Pugh and wife Kelly of Bartlesville, two sisters, Joan Pugh and Judith Ann Williams and her husband Ken all of Bartlesville, and three grandchildren, Tommy Pugh, Forrest Long and Dawson Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Katherine Pierce and Elsia Thompson and one brother, James Pugh.
