Albert Lee Veach, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on July 26, 1951, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Albert lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family.
Albert was the cherished son of Erin and Bessie Veach. He grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and community, instilling in him the values of hard work and compassion that would guide him throughout his life. He attended Seminole High School, where he began to forge the friendships and connections that would last a lifetime.
In 1969, Albert proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War from March 22, 1970, until February 26, 1971. He closed his military career as a Specialist Corporal, a testament to his commitment and bravery.
On March 13, 1992, Albert married the love of his life, Sandy (Smith) Veach, at Prairie Song Events in Dewey, Oklahoma. Their 33 years together were marked by deep love, laughter, and a shared passion for life. Albert cherished his wife, and their home was always filled with joy and the warmth of family gatherings.
Albert was the proud father of two sons, Jason Lee Veach, who preceded him in death, and Benjamin Smith, who, along with his wife Alyson, brought Albert immense pride. He was also a devoted grandfather to his granddaughter, Aria Smith, and grandson, Kendal Veach and his wife, Hannah. Albert loved spending time with his grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; his son, Benjamin, and wife Alyson; his grandchildren, Aria and Kendal; his brother, James Veach; his sister, Evelyn (Veach) Hadley; and numerous family members who held a special place in his heart. Albert was also preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Larry, Aaron, Darrel, and his sister Barbara (Veach) Smith.
Albert had a fulfilling career, working for 13 years at Reda Pump before joining ConocoPhillips as an MSO from 1989 until his retirement in 2013. His work ethic and dedication were evident in everything he did.
In his spare time, Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and caring for his animals. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and had a unique ability to make those around him laugh. Known for his playful nature, Albert loved to joke around and prank his loved ones, filling their lives with lightheartedness and joy.
Albert's love for his family was unparalleled. He was a man of integrity, warmth, and kindness, always willing to lend a hand or share a laugh. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A formal viewing will be held in his honor on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Stumpff Funeral Home. The service will be held at Oglesby Cemetery on Thursday, January 16th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made on behalf of Albert to Wildheart Ranch, an organization close to his heart.
As we remember Albert Lee Veach, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to family. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
