Donald Ray Lawson was born on April 29, 1936, in Ramona, Oklahoma, to Asa Hubern Lawson and Rena Barstow Laughlin. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Amy R. (Crouch) Lawson. Together, they began their journey in the Nowata area, where they lovingly raised three sons.
In late 1958, Don and Amy moved to the Colorado Springs area, where Don began his career as an electrician. In 1962, they settled in Woodland Park, Colorado, where Don founded Don Lawson Electric. It was there they continued raising their family, building both a home and a life grounded in hard work, love, and faith.
In 1977, the family returned to the Ramona area. Don worked for an electrical company in Bartlesville before joining Central States Business Forms in Dewey, serving in the maintenance department. During that time, he began building their family home"one paycheck at a time" a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
After retirement, Don and Amy enjoyed traveling the country together in their motor home, cherishing every adventure along the way.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Rena Lawson; his beloved wife, Amy Ruth Lawson; siblings Agnes Lawson, Naomi Black, Charles Lawson, and John Lawson; and a grandchild, Baby Lawson.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Glenna Lawson; his sons Larry (Alice), Gary (Teri), and Randy (Merri); nine grandchildren Aaron Lawson, Angela (Doug) Osborn, Derek (Tricia) Lawson, Darrell Lawson, Daniel Lawson, Erin (Wayne) Schonherr, Shawn Early, Shane Early, and Dena Able; Fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His Pallbearers will be his six Grandsons.
Donald Ray Lawson passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. His legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on through the many lives he touched.
