Mr. Hugh E. Rodgers, 79, retired Reda Pump Machinist of 42 years, resident of Ochelata, died at 3:10 P.M. on Monday at the Journey Home in Bartlesville.
Graveside Services for Mr. Rodgers will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Ochelata Cemetery, with Rev. Ted Hoffman of the Ochelata United Methodist Church, and Rev. Warren Peck of the Copan United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Ochelata Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
Hugh was born April 26, 1936 at Lebanon, Indiana to Reverend Carl and Margaret (Harvey) Rodgers. After college Hugh married Sharon Evans in 1958 at Bartlesville. They had four children; Pamela, Kevin, Shari and Jennifer. He later married Betty A. Sears in 1975 in Ochelata. She had two children; Susie and Diane who became his own daughters. They made their home in Ochelata, where he was a very active member of the Ochelata United Methodist Church. He was also very active in the Ochelata Volunteer Fire Department up until January of this year.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Betty of the home, children Susie Reese and husband Ron of Hailey, Idaho, Pamela Peck and husband Warren Peck of Copan, Oklahoma, Kevin Rodgers and wife Jeanne of Madill, Oklahoma, Diane Carver and husband Mike of Dewey, Oklahoma, Shari Anderson and husband Randy of Oglesby Oklahoma, and Jennifer Fenstermaker and husband Jeff of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 20 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Granddaughter, his brother Merlin Rodgers and wife Carol of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and three nieces and nephews.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marcia Burpo, and one Granddaughter, Marrissa Carver.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Journey Home 3406 S.E. Kentucky Ave. Bartlesville, OK. 74006, or Rivercross Hospice 2301 S.E. Washington Blvd. Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006, or Ochelata United Methodist Church, or to the Ochelata Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 118 Ochelata, OK. 74051.
