Ochelata - Jimmy Wayne Brashear passed away on September 23, 2021 in Ochelata, Oklahoma. He was sixty-four.

He was born on January 22, 1957 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and grew up in Ochelata, Oklahoma. He graduated from Caney Valley High School in Ramona, Oklahoma and Tri County Technical Center with a certificate in welding. He was a professional welder his entire adult life.

He is survived by his parents, Johnnie and Lois Brashear; his brother, JB Brashear; his son, Joel Brashear and his wife, Kasi and two grandchildren, Amelia and Jonah; his son, Jordan Brashear and future daughter-in-law, Christian Savory; and his son, James Brashear. Other family members include, his nephew, Travis, his wife Danielle and their two children, Madyson and John.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ava Claire.

From a young age, Jim loved being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. His sons have fond memories of tagging along with dad on many of those trips. Being a gifted welder was something he took pride in as evidenced by many metal buildings and homes in the area. He often used his expertise and creativity in welding and construction to help others. A fellow church member and friend shared Jim's love for hunting but was prevented from doing so by physical limitations. Jim wanted to make a way for him to enjoy, "the thrill of the hunt". Jim conceived, designed and built a trailer on which his friend could roll onto in his wheelchair and shoot a rifle mounted on a support. His friend was then able to bag several deer using this tailor-made hunting trailer. For many years, Jim was actively involved in ministries at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church where he served as a children's Sunday School teacher, youth worker, deacon, and member of agri-mission trips to Honduras.

The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 290 Ochelata Street, in Ochelata, Oklahoma on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 2pm.

The viewing will be Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 10am-8pm.

The family will be there to welcome family and friends.
