Jessie “Louise” Yeats, 96, passed away June 6, 2017 at 12:32 am.

Louise was born on November 21, 1920 in Matoy, Oklahoma to parents Hugh Fred and Lucy N (Nichols) Yeats. She grew up and was educated in Southeastern Oklahoma and attended college at Durant (Southeastern Oklahoma State). She received her Bachelor’s degree in teaching and taught for two years.

Louise enlisted in the United States Navy and moved to Florida. She taught ground school and flight simulators to Naval Pilots during WWII.
After the war, she was honorably discharged and moved to the FAA, in Oklahoma City where she taught ground school until she retired in 1977 from Tinker Air Force base.
She then moved to Bartlesville in 1980 to be near her brother and sister in law.
She was an active member of Good Shepherd and a volunteer with the Salvation Army.

Louise is survived by her brother Bill Yeates and wife Jan of Willow Street, Pennsylvania; nieces Stephanie Chellius and Joyce Boyce of Pennsylvania, Carolyn Henderson and James of Muskogee and nephew Jim Yeats and Martha of Tulsa.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law Carroll and Millie Yeats.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Dale Scott of Good Shepard Church officiating.
