Lois Kathryn Toups, 89, of Bartlesville passed away at 11:13 AM Sunday, December 18th at Jane Phillips Medical Center following a short illness.

Lois Kathryn Tentinger was born on July 28, 1927 in Remsen, Iowa to William J. Tentinger and Kathryn (Ludwig) Tentinger. She resided in Remsen, Iowa until she met and fell in love with Edward Charles Toups Jr. They were married on June 21, 1949, and remained married for the next 53 years until Edward passed away in February of 2002. Before settling in Bartlesville, they resided in Louisiana, Iowa and Las Vegas, Nevada. When living in Iowa, Lois was employed by JC Penney in the credit department. Once the couple settled in Bartlesville, she became a full time mother and housewife when they adopted their oldest daughter, Toni Annette Toups then their second daughter, Lori Kay Toups.
Lois was very active in the Bartlesville Garden Society, Bridge Club and was a very devout member of the St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church. Her faith was very important to her throughout her lifetime. She took classes at Tri County Technical Center and volunteered at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. She was very active in her grandchildren's lives as they were very important to her.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Toni Stark and Lori Walker both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; sisters Helen Ritz of Sioux City, Iowa; Doris Ruhland of Lemars, Iowa; Phyllis Boever and husband Jim of Davenport, Iowa and Paula Schroeder and husband Gib of Remsen, Iowa; grandchildren Sara Finton of Cherryvale, Kansas and Chelsea Zoski of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Toups, two brothers Erwin and Roman Tentinger; two sisters Mercedes Augustine and Rita Henke.

Visitation will be at the Stumpff Funeral Home, Tuesday from 1 to 8:00 P.M., and Wednesday from 8:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM On Wednesday, December 21 at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at St. John Before the Latin Gate in Bartlesville with Father Michael Pratt officiating. Private

Interment will be held at Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Before the Latin Gate church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory in Bartlesville.
