William "Bill" F Tuckett, 88, passed away on February 23, 2025, at his home in Bartlesville, OK, surrounded by his beloved family. While a man of many titles throughout his life including engineer, bishop, president, and elder, the ones he wore with the utmost pride were always husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bill was born on December 29, 1936, in Lake Shore, UT, to John Willis Tuckett and Fern Ferguson. As the eldest of seven children growing up on a beet/corn farm, he learned quickly the value of hard, honest work and placing the needs of others above his own. These values would serve him well as he dedicated his life to unselfish service of others.

While attending High School in Spanish Fork, UT, Bill met his best friend and future eternal companion, Roberta Nelson. They served together on the seminary board; he as the president and she as the secretary. They were married on September 4, 1956, and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This marked the beginning to the greatest adventure they could possibly undertake together in this life.
With a strong desire to provide for his family, Bill attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He was hired at Phillips Petroleum Company, working for over three decades. He worked in multiple states and multiple areas of the business, finally ending up in Bartlesville, OK. It was in Bartlesville that he put down deep roots, Ultimately, it would be there where Bill and Roberta raised their 8 children and welcomed their 27 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren (with 3 more to be added later this year) to visit as often as they could. Bill was a man of many talents. From a young age, he was considered an excellent athlete and enjoyed playing basketball far into his late 40s, with noon time basketball at the Phillips Petroleum gym taking place each workday. His love for sports ran deep. Bill could often be found coaching one of his children's teams or cheering on his beloved BYU Cougars.
Outside of work and sports, Bill was an accomplished singer, finding time to participate in barbershop quartets and local choirs. When not singing, one could almost expect to hear him whistling any number of songs from a variety of genres. In addition to this, he developed a love and passion for woodworking, building hope chests for each of his daughters and turning countless numbers of pens. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bill served faithfully wherever he was called. With the support of his beloved Roberta, he accepted callings to serve as branch president, bishop, high councilor, missionary, and temple worker. While each calling brought with it a sense of accomplishment and good deeds, the final two allowed Bill to serve side by side with Roberta, the dream calling for a man so in love with his wife. It was this love that motivated him to serve her whenever possible, doing whatever he could to elevate her and her passions and ambitions. It was ultimately this love that reunited them after a short seven-week separation following Roberta's sudden passing in January of this year.
In death, he was preceded by his beloved wife, Roberta Tuckett, his parents, John and Fern Tuckett; three of his sisters (brothers-in-law), Cherril (Phillip) Argyle, Maureen Stone, and Carolyn (Steve) Walker; his sister-in-law, Lynda Tuckett; as well as his son-in-law, Jerry Morgan.
Bill is survived by three of his siblings (in-laws), Janice (Merrill) Carter, Dennis (Dorothy) Tuckett, and Joe (Cheri) Tuckett, his brother-in-law, Erman Stone, as well as his eight children (27 grandchildren/52 great-grandchildren): Ray (Sarah) Tuckett (2/4) of Mesa, AZ; David (Sandy) Tuckett (4/14) of Glenpool, OK; JoAnn (Tim) Ruggles (3/7) of Bixby, OK; Kevin (Evelyn) Tuckett (2/7) of Bartlesville, OK; Lynne (Keith) Hansen (6/11) of Spartanburg, SC; Teresa (Doug) Nufer (6/8) of Cedar Hills, UT; Pamela (Stephen) Gedye (1) of Bartlesville, OK; and Alisha (Matt) Molen (3/1) of Gilbert, AZ.
