DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Amanda Nicole Sumpter, 35, passed away Monday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was taken too soon and her family will dearly miss her sparkle and her laughter.

Amanda was born the daughter of Stafford Dewayne and Robyn Renee (Stokes) Sumpter on June 24, 1986, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Amanda moved back to Oklahoma with her mom and sister before settling in Caney, Kansas. Amanda attended Caney Valley Schools where she was active in the band and played volleyball, graduating in 2005. Amanda moved away for several years after graduation and lived her life to the fullest. After her return back to Kansas she worked as a dispatcher for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office and found something she truly loved to do. From there she settled in Stillwater with her two daughters Jocelyn and Leighton, and boyfriend Brandon Rossicoe. Amanda was working for the Oklahoma State University Campus Police as a dispatcher where she currently found her place. Go Pokes!!! Amanda loved her family and treasured her time with them. She was always ready for anything, whether it was going to Jocelyn’s cheerleading activities, going to the lake with her and Brandon’s kids or going to the zoo as long as they were all together. She was a good friend and loved to hang out with them, anything from special occasion events or floating down the river, and they always had a great time. She built many long lasting relationships with many of them, including those she regarded as sisters in life. She loved OSU and Kansas City Chiefs football, but most of all, her family, both blood and of the heart. She will be deeply missed by all.

Amanda is survived by her daughters Jocelyn Stokes and Leighton Rossicoe, her mom Robyn Stokes Sumpter, sister Ashley Sumpter, niece Alexsis Perez Sumpter, maternal grandparents John and Alice Stokes, uncles Troy and Kelly Stokes, and boyfriend Brandon Rossicoe,

She’s preceded in death by her father.

Amanda’s family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville. Come and go visitation will be also held on Tuesday from 11-8 and Wednesday 9-12.
