Olga excelled in academic pursuits, while participating in basketball, journalism and Home Economic Clubs. After high school, Olga attended Abilene Christian College for a year before transferring to North Texas State College earning a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Home Economics in 1948.
In March of 1948, Olga married her high school sweetheart, Jack Stubblefield, after his return from military service overseas and subsequent graduation for Texas A&M. They made their home in Bartlesville, OK, where Olga taught Home Economics at Central Jr. Hight until after her daughters were born. Olga’s primary focus was family life, raising her two daughters and enjoying her grandchildren, balanced with participating in numerous organizations and clubs. She was an active member of Sweet Gum Garden Club, Child Study Club; and in 1979 became a charter member of the Woolaroc Chapter of Questors International Club which focused on historical significance. During her 25-year membership she also served as President.
Olga had a passion for playing Bridge until her mid-eighties. In her late seventies, she discovered the challenges of an investment club serving a term as President of this club also.
Olga was known for her skills as an excellent seamstress in producing professional quality draperies and home décor. Her ability to create beautiful and unusual garments, for herself and her daughters through a sketch or mere description reflected her true ability and vision. Her excellent culinary skills were relished by all family members. In addition, her service to others was extended through teaching Summer Bible School, serving as a Girl Scout Leader and volunteering as an aide in special needs classrooms.
Olga enjoyed pursuing a variety of new activities and experiences and continuing some interests for a lifetime. Her interests also included gardening, flower arrangement, refurbishing antique furniture, antique collections, pottery making, reading, bicycling, playing tennis, and golf.
