(permission granted)

Lucy Mae Shull, 78, of Whippoorwill at Hulah Lake died Friday at home.

Lucy was born the daughter of George and Louise Annette (Osborne) Jones on April 18, 1937, in Prescott, MO. Her family moved to Bartlesville and she attended Bartlesville schools including Central and College High. Lucy married the love of her life Johnny Wade Shull on Feb. 14, 1953, in Dewey while he was on leave following basic training in the Army. Lucy joined him at Fort Sill where he was stationed during the Korean War. In 1954 the family moved back to Dewey, then in 1971 they made their current home in Whippoorwill, a community on Hulah Lake. Lucy worked at local nursing centers before starting her career at Applied Automation, retiring in 1985.

Lucy loved the Lord and was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Bowring. She was passionate about spending time with her children and grandchildren and was active in their lives. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, pretty punch and made her own clothes when she was younger. Johnny's love of hunting was passed on to their sons and even though she didn't like wrapping deer meat to put away, she did it out of love. Johnny and the boys loved her dearly.

Lucy is survived by her husband Johnny of the home; three sons, Bobby Shull and Debbie of Dewey, Rick Shull and Cheryl of Copan, and Mark Shull of Copan; two sisters Ethel Howell of Harrah, OK, and Florence Lorenz and Raymond of Bartlesville; five grandchildren Krystal Dawn Shook, Crystal Lavone Cox, Jakey O'Rourke, Amber Rees and Tyler Shull; and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Frank Jack Jones and John Robert Jones, one sister Murline White, and two grandsons Brannon Wade Shull and Alan DeWayne Shull

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 2, 2015, at the Calvary Community Church in Bowring, with Rev. Bill Long officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Lucy's family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
