Fred Rowe

Fred Rowe of Bartlesville died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, December 17, 2012.
Fred was born July 25, 1929 in Webb City, OK to Fred and Vilula (Glass) Rowe, who both preceded him in death.
Fred grew up in Shidler, OK, attended elementary school in Webb City and graduated from Shidler High School in the class of 1947. He has been a great supporter of the Shidler High School Alumni Association. Fred attended and graduated from Oklahoma A&M, now known as Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK with a degree in chemical engineering in 1951. Immediately following graduation from OSU, Fred went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Borger, TX. From Borger, he and his family spent four years in Durgapur, India where Fred helped start the carbon black plant and also worked as plant manager. When he returned to the states, he worked in Ohio, Bartlesville and later worked two years in Germany and also in England. Fred also represented Phillips in China, Africa and Italy. He completed his career in Bartlesville.
Fred was married to Felma Maydell Kossey in Phillips, TX on February 13, 1953 and they had three sons. His wife of 42 years preceded in him death on November 30, 1994.
Fred is survived by his wife of 17 1/2 years, Wanda Burgess Rowe, his sons; Jack Dale Rowe of Tulsa, OK, Robert Dewayne Rowe and wife Joy of Bartlesville, Billy Fred Rowe of Houston, TX and two stepchildren, Leisa Burgess Grodhaus and husband Greg of Grove, OK and Michael Brad Burgess of Grove. Fred was blessed with five grandchildren; April Rowe Ramsey and husband Brad of Joplin, MO, Billy Fred Rowe Jr., Grandbury, TX, Kristopher Rowe and wife Stacy, Frisco, TX, Cody Rowe, Houston, TX and Zachary Burgess, Grove, OK. Also surviving Fred are four great grandchildren, his sister, Charlotte Rowe Powell and husband J.C. of Tulsa, along with a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Bartlesville, OK on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
