Mr. Glenn Joseph Oliver, 95, of Dewey, died at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home in Dewey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, July 23, 2021 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bill Garrison officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Come and go visitation for family and friends will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday and from 9 AM until 8 PM on Thursday.

Mr. Oliver was born in rural Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 8, 1926 the son of Ernest Oliver and Dessa Blanche (Shoup) Oliver. He grew up in the Ochelata area and graduated from Ramona High School. He entered the U.S. Army during the latter part of World War II and served as part of the occupation force of Japan. He was recalled to military service during the Korean Conflict and during that time he was a prisoner of war for 32 months. He received his Honorable Discharge on December 8, 1953. He returned to Bartlesville where he was active as a mechanic with the Chevrolet dealership and later became employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He was active as a postal carrier for 32 years until his retirement in 1986. He liked to fish and hunt. Mr. Oliver was married to Bernice Reece on October 22, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri and they made their home in the Bartlesville/Dewey area.

Mr. Oliver is survived by four daughters, Brenda Sheikh of Bartlesville, Sally Ann Tariq of Dewey, Dorothy Allison and husband Terry of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Diane Rickman and husband Bruce of Dewey, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and four siblings, he was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Darling, a grandson, Ryan Rickman and by his wife, Bernice Oliver on June 13, 2013.
