DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Our beloved mom, Stella Bell Montague, 81, of Bartlesville, OK peacefully went to sleep Saturday at 10:18 am, February 20, 2016, in Ramona, OK at the country home of her gracious daughter and son-in-law.

Our mom was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 18, 1934. She was the daughter of Harold Eugene and Evelyn May (McClure) Abplanalp. She graduated with a GED in 1974 and later from Moorpark College in 1977 with an Associate Degree in Accounting & Business.

Her true soul mate with whom she dated when her kids were in their early teens but never married passed away in Washington State. Her second soul mate, Charles Montague, is currently residing in Eugene, Oregon. Although they divorced many years ago she felt a special kinship with Chuck and asked his permission to retain his name for which we are proud that he is still part of our family.

Mom started working as an engineering secretary for Electric Mechanical Research in Van Nuys, CA from 1963 to 1967. She held various interesting jobs and had some amazing business and/or personal hobbies through her years. Although she was a member of the Bartlesville Seventh-day Adventist Church we know (based on reports this week) that she regularly attended song worship services and monthly fellowship get-togethers with other churches in the local area. She loved all genres of music, especially gospel. She loved to sing and write songs. She was also very artistic with painting, pottery and drawing. Our mom had a passion in caring for people, whether it was adult elder care to making pillow-case dresses for kids in Africa to making scarfs for the homeless or donating blankets.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven Wayne and Sheree Huckabaa of Sioux Falls, SD, her daughter and son-in-law, Teri Diane and Gary Lawson, of Ramona, OK; grandchildren, Natasha and Mark Berralon of Smithers, Canada, Shaun Early of Cedar Park, TX, Shane Early and Mindi McBride of Tulsa, OK and Deanna and Nathan Abel of Ochelate, OK; great-grandchildren, Chris, Valerie, Marcel, Jean Paul, Angelina, Gabriel, Katronia, Oceonnia, Felecia, Angel, Dixie and Wyatt; five great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rosie Campbell of Wichita, KS, identical twin Syvitha Duggins of Sand Springs, OK and Patricia and Jackie Campbell of Wichita, KS; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and very special personal friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Harold and mother Evelyn, sister Virginia and brothers Jerry and Jessie.

Stella’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Thursday, February 25, from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Davis Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Waymond White officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Stella’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
