Barbara Jeanne Mills
August 8, 1938 - May 24, 2025

Barbara Jeanne Mills, 86, went home to her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2025. The longtime Bartlesville resident passed away peacefully at The Journey Home and will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

Barbara Hall was born on August 8, 1938, six miles north of Centrahoma, Oklahoma in Coal County, to Doyle J. and Mamie L. (Forrester) Hall. At age 12, her family moved to Muskogee where she graduated from Muskogee High in 1956. She attended business college before moving in 1958 to work at the US Bureau of Mines which had expanded post-war research in oil production and refining technologies.

In 1962, Barbara met the love of her life David Fay Mills at a Methodist singles group. They fell in love and were married on May 4, 1963 at the First Methodist Church. The young couple made their home in Bartlesville where they raised three children. While their kids were young, Barbara stayed home. Once they were grown, she returned to the workforce and joined KPL, later part of Oklahoma Natural Gas, and worked in customer service from 1981-1999 before finally retiring from the energy industry.

Barbara's greatest pride and joy were her kids and grandkids. In 1980, Barbara and David transferred membership to Bartlesville Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed working in the nursery and continued caring for God's littlest ones. Her favorite pastimes were reading, solving puzzles and cooking for her loved ones. She was a homebody but also enjoyed going out. When the kids were small, the family went camping in a pop-up camper. She also enjoyed taking day trips and trying out new restaurants. She enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband David Mills of 62 years and their three children: Mark (and Joni Edwards) Mills, Melinda (and Don) Howard, and Allan Mills. She was further blessed with four grandchildren: Kyle (and Elizabeth) Thomas, Ryan (and Bethany) Thomas, Jackson Mills and Audrey Mills; one great granddaughter Evelyn; as well as in-laws, cousins and other family. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving parents, sister Virginia Jobe, and son-in-law James Thomas.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Spangenberg of Bartlesville First Nazarene officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
