John Edward Lee, 85, resident of Bartlesville, passed from this life on the evening of August 10th, 2016 at his home.

He was born January 18th, 1931 in Stillwater, OK to Sam and Ellen Lee. John attended the rural Fairview School in Payne County and graduated from Perkins High School before serving in the United States Navy. After his military career John attended what is now Oklahoma State University where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Automotive Engineering and then went on to work for Phillips 66 as a research technician from 1956-1988. On January 17th, 1958 John married his wife of 58 years, Wanda Ray Lee, and they built their home and life in Bartlesville, OK where they also raised their three children.

John is survived by his wife, Wanda Lee of Bartlesville, son Kirby Lee and his wife, Kathie Lee of Lafayette, LA, daughter Kathy Taggart and her husband Joe Taggart of Bartlesville, OK, son Kerry Lee and his wife Brooke Lee of Stillwater, OK, brother Josh Lee and his wife Edna Lee of Bartlesville, OK, and sister-in-law Phyllis Smith and her husband Glenn Smith of Denver, CO. John is also survived by eight grandchildren: Casey Martinez and husband Eric of Bartlesville, Nikki Smith of Bartlesville, Audrey Poston and husband Hunter of Stillwater, Hannah Lee of Stillwater, Michael Lee, Cullen Lee, Tristan Lee, and Logan Lee of Lafayette, LA, and one great grandchild, Ava Morgan and a number of nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, Sam Lee, mother, Ellen Lee, sister Irene Harral, and grandson Sean Lee.

Graveside Services for John Edward Lee were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, OK with Chaplain Mark Bright from RiverCross Hospice officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stumpff Funeral Home.
