Daniel Joseph Keleher, Sr, owner of Keleher Outdoor Advertising, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Daniel was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 2, 1936 to parents F.J. and Cornelia (Meier) Keleher. He attended Cascia Hall, and was a member of the 1954 graduating class. Daniel then enrolled in Notre Dame where he earned a degree in business. During his Senior year, he took a class in Outdoor Advertising, and then realized he was destined for a career in the Billboard Business. After college, Daniel took his first job with General Outdoor Advertising.
On September 10, 1960, Daniel married Dixie Shears in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Dixie preceded him in death on June 16, 2004.
As they raised their six children, Daniel worked for various advertising companies, in Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Ohio, and Nebraska.
In 1975, Daniel purchased United Outdoor Advertising in Bartlesville. He grew this business into the largest family owned billboard company in Oklahoma.
On October 15, 2005, he married Joyce Thompson-Tindel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Daniel loved life, and was often heard saying "This is LIVIN'!" He enjoyed traveling, dining, Notre Dame football, and the outdoor advertising business. Daniel was honored to be in the National Outdoor Advertising Association of America Hall of Fame.
He was deeply involved with the Bartlesville community; a member of Kiwanis, Noon Rotary, a past President of the Bartlesville Symphony, and an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce.
Daniel was a lifelong Catholic and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church since 1975 although he attended Mass wherever he was at the time.

Daniel is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, his children, Dan Keleher, Jr. and his wife Janie of Bartlesville, Rita Mohler and husband Chris of Denver, Colorado, Theresa Merrifield and husband Mike of Bartlesville, Stephanie Lightle and husband Grant of Bentonville, Arkansas, Cathy Lee and husband Colin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Barbara and husband Lieutenant Colonel Robert Garbarino of Columbia, South Carolina and step children Jeff Tindel of Bartlesville, Jared Tindel and wife Becky of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Tindel of Wichita, Kansas. Grandchildren Abbie Keleher Jolley and husband Michael, Nick Keleher, Katie Keleher, Benjamin Mohler, Ryan Mohler, Sophie Mohler, Alex Merrifield, Jenna Merrifield, Rhianna Lightle, Cade Lightle, Mason Lee, Savannah Lee, Madison Lee, Isabella Garbarino, Malia Garbarino, Lorelei Garbarino, Mark Garbarino and step grandchildren Kylee Tindel, Korynn Tindel, Konner Tindel, Kaleb Tindel and Kayson Tindel.

Daniel was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Gerald.

A Rosary will be said Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. John Before The Latin Gate Catholic Church in Bartlesville, with Interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
