William Howard Jobe
February 10, 1936 - June 12, 2025

William Howard "Bill" Jobe was born on February 10, 1936, to loving parents, Howard Johnson Jobe and Rachel Allison (Savage) Jobe, of Bartlesville. He passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, in Bartlesville at the age of 89.

He graduated from Bartlesville's College High School in 1953 and, at 17, left home for The University of Tulsa. There, he received bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics. He was inducted into the National Math Honors Society, and his thesis was published in an international journal of Logic. He was a loving father to Gretchen and Walter and took them on countless adventures. He worked as a mathematician and early computer scientist for Shell Oil Company from 1964-1991, when he retired early to the Florida panhandle with his wife, Sue. He owned a small ranch home and became a Master Gardener and an active volunteer horticulturalist in Santa Rosa County. He was a lifelong world-traveler and avid fisherman.

In 2002, Bill and Sue returned to Bartlesville to be near his beloved parents.

William is survived by his wife, Susan (Williams) Jobe; children, Gretchen (Jobe) Mullen and Walter Jobe; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 10.
