Garrett Wayne Hesslen, 22, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died February 14, 2021.

He was born to Rebecca and Kurt Hesslen on November 17, 1998 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Garrett was a full-time student at Tulsa Community College majoring in Nursing with plans to transfer to Oklahoma Wesleyan University this fall. He graduated from Wesleyan Christian School in 2017. Garrett loved Theological history and was very knowledgeable of bible scripture. He also enjoyed mastering new languages and was a fluent speaker in French, Mandarin and Portuguese and was studying his newest language, Hebrew. He also had a passion for creating music and playing music through digital and piano. His latest interest was a vintage Mercedes restoration that he had planned with his dad. Garrett loved the Lord and his family and friends. He had the biggest heart for older people and would much prefer their company to some his own age. He had a passion to protect the underdog and less fortunate and for such a young man, he had such wisdom beyond his years.

Garrett is survived by Kurt and Rebecca Hesslen (Parents), Maeghan Hesslen (Sister). Grandparents: Frank & Chris Mortan, Jack & Linda Wilbanks, Jerry & Judy Hesslen, Liz McLaughlin. Aunts/uncles: Frank & Wendy Mortan, Jerry & Kim Hesslen, Keith Hesslen. Cousins: Rachel Mortan, Laura Mortan, Justin Hesslen, Kira Hesslen and Amanda Lee.
