Stephen Earl Heilman was born December 16, 1941 in Pittsburg, KS to Earl Valentine Heilman and Hazel Catherine (Cardwell) Heilman.

Steve grew up in Parsons, KS and graduated from Parsons High School in May 1959. He attended classes at Coffeyville Community College after graduation. He eventually moved to Bartlesville, OK with his wife, Carol Ann, and made his career at the Phillips Petroleum Company Research Center as a Chemist. After an early retirement from Phillips, he kept busy as a guard at Guardsmark. Steve’s true passion was loving and caring for his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He would always do anything for his family. Steve loved the outdoors and enjoyed going fishing and bird watching. He loved listening to music and watching his favorite television shows. He also loved going thrift store shopping to look for things he and his family enjoyed collecting. One of his favorite things was family get-togethers. He loved watching his grandchildren play together and hearing their excitement. He made many special and unforgettable memories with his family.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Angela Patterson of Tulsa, and granddaughter, Meagan Patterson and great-granddaughter, Addilyn Patterson, granddaughter, Britney Skye Patterson and great-granddaughter, Tula Patterson Crouch, and grandsons, Cannon Patterson and Gabriel Heilman, daughter, Melissa and husband Mark Yardley of Bartlesville, and grandsons, Logan and Tanner Yardley, granddaughter, Scarlett Heilman, daughter, Stephanie Heilman of Bartlesville, and grandsons, Kylan and Tyson Heilman, He is also survived by his niece, Amy Gerdes Iori and husband Jim Iori of Pittsburg, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Heilman, sister, Julie Gerdes and brother-in-law, Joe Gerdes, in-laws, Glen and Letha Johnson, and daughter, Lisa Heilman.
