Kathryn Louise "Kathy" Bowers, age 62, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 1:03 a.m., in the Jane Phillips Medical Center with family members at her side. She died of complications following a sudden illness.
Kathy was born December 4, 1949 in Bartlesville. She was the daughter of John Robert Bowers and Nellie Juanita (McCallister) Bowers. She spent her youth in Bartlesville and graduated from College High School in 1969. She has since spent much of the rest of her life in a support role helping a sister who lost a husband in a traffic accident and helping her mother following the death of her father.
Kathy's favorite hobby was crocheting and she made and donated several blankets for her many friends and local care center residents. She had an incredible ability to remember facts and dates and served as a family repository for family facts and history up to her death. Her sharp wit and sense of humor were a joy to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mother, Nellie, of the home; sister, Karen Johnston, and her husband, Dee, of Bartlesville; brother, Kirk Bowers and his wife, Loretta, of Peggs, Oklahoma; sister, Christa Thompson and her husband, Craig W., of Tulsa; and 10 nieces and nephews and their families.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Bowers and twin infant nephews.
