Larry Dean Smith, 63, resident of Dewey, died at 1:55 PM, August 21st at Forrest Manor Nursing Center. Larry was born February 16, 1952 in Bartlesville to Doris Riehart Smith and Frances Willard Smith. He was raised and received his education in Dewey before going to Gary Job Corp. in San Marcos, Texas where he received training as a truck driver. Larry was a truck driver for over 34 years, spending a number of them with D.P. Bonham and Burrows Trucking, before becoming his own boss as owner/operator of L & L Trucking.
Larry is survived by his children; Nikole Calonder of Bartlesville, and Dallas Smith and his wife Jessica of Bartlesville, his step-daughter, Kristi Phelps and her husband Chris of Bartlesville, his ex-wife LeAnn Smith of Wann, which he stayed very close to until his time of death, a brother Chris Smith and wife Nancy of Clarksville, Georgia, a sister Sharon Mark and her husband Steve and their daughter Alisha Mark of Lenexa, Kansas, grandchildren, Memphis Calonder, Alexis and Kynzie Smith and Shelby, Branden and Reagan Phelps, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends who wish may sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org Funeral Home.
