Margie Mullikin, age 93 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on November 18, 2015 in the Heritage Villa Nursing Center, Bartlesville.
Margie L. Jones was born on October 6, 1922 in Copan, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Orlando Jones and Minnie (Burgess) Jones. She was raised in the Copan area, where she received her education, graduating high school in 1941.
Margie worked for the Bartlesville Pharmacy and also Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she was an operator and supervisor. She resided in Copan and Bartlesville most of her life, except for a brief time in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and Deming, New Mexico where she worked as a PBX operator for Mountain States Telephone Company at an Air Force base.
After the war, Margie returned to Bartlesville and worked as a receptionist at C. E. Burlingame Gas Corporation. She returned to employment at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company working as a Service Representative in the business office. She also worked at Vandevers Department Store.
Margie and Howard J. Mullikin were united in marriage on April 7, 1945 in Bartlesville. They were married 58 years prior to Mr. Mullikin's death on August 23, 2003. Margie had continued her residence in Bartlesville since that time.
Margie was a member of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, Bartlesville.
Surviving are her children, John Mullikin and his wife, Debra, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Patricia Ann McNitt and her husband, Roger, of Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kyle McNitt and his wife, Jessica of Bentonville, Arkansas, Lori Price and her husband, Josh, of Bentonville, Sarah Alexander and her husband, Jeremy, of Broken Arrow, Jami Mullikin of Broken Arrow; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; and three brothers.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM in the Dewey City Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma. Rev. Tom Cox will officiate.
