Mr. John Edward Haines, 78, of Bartlesville, retired pipeline worker for Local #627, died at 8:05 A.M. on Sunday June 7, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday June 12, 2015 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Morton, Pastor of the East Bartlesville Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery, under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Haines was born August 16, 1936 at Sedan Kansas to Floyd and Lottie Bell (Roberts) Haines.He grew up at Niotaze, and later Peru Kansas where he received his education, graduating from Peru High School in 1954. John was married to Dorothy Jean Newton on June 10, 1957 at Richmond, Indiana. John started his construction career at the age of 14, working summers with his Dad. He traveled all over the U. S. working in all but 4 states. In 1969 they made Bartlesville their home base, while John continued to work construction. He was a member of the Local Union #627 Operators Engineers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Caney, Kansas. He was dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Haines is survived by his wife Dorothy Jean Haines of the home, by three daughters; Cynthia Ann Hussey of Norwalk Connecticut, Jeannie Stanley and husband Jim of Bartlesville, and Janet Peck and husband James of Dewey, Oklahoma, a son Richard Allen "Rick" Haines of Bartlesville, a sister Clara Burch of California, by five grandchildren Laura Sanak and husband Andy, Amy Hussey, Jeremy Stanley and wife Kayla, Travis Stanley, and Alec Peck, by four great grandchildren, Addison Sanak, Anderson Sanak, Jaden Stanley and Derek Stanley. He was preceded in death by brothers, Victor Haines, and Roland Haines as an infant and by his parents Floyd and Lottie Bell Haines.

Dorothy Jean Newton, 81, of Bartlesville, died at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and the best grandmother & great grandmother.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 12th, 2021, in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Spaulding officiating.

Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery, under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Dorothy Haines was born July 21, 1939 on 4th Street in Neodesha, KS she was the fifth child of Roger Milton & Mary Alice (Cole) Newton. Her siblings were Ethel; Clarence; Juanita; Lena; & Bill. She lived in Neodesha & Caney, Kansas. Dorothy attended 1st-9th grade in Caney & 3 years of high school in Neodesha. Graduating in 1957. During her high school years, she was a part of Y-Teens, Treasurer; FHA, a Cheerleader, in the choir; made the Who’s Who, a Football Attendant & Basketball Attendant. Dorothy married John Edward Haines on Jun 10, 1957, in Richmond, Indiana. Dorothy & John traveled the country for John’s work. She has been in every state in the US except 2. She was quite the tourist. In addition, she liked getting the other ladies together for walking, crafting, touring & just having fun.

John & Dorothy had 4 children: Cindy Hussey of New Canaan Connecticut; Rick Haines of Bartlesville; Jeannie Stanley (Jim) of Bartlesville & Janet Peck (James) of Dewey. Dorothy loved her 5 grandkids: Laura Sanak (Andy), Amy Hussey (Charles Black); Jeremy Stanley (Kayla), Travis Stanley (Lauren); Alec Peck (Jessica). She had 6 great grandkids: Addison, Anderson & Lily Sanak; Jaden & Derek Stanley; and Millie Peck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, great grandson Anderson & siblings: Ethel, Clarence, Juanita, Lena & Bill.
