Samuel Henry McClure Sr., 71, of Bartlesville, went to heaven on May 4, 2025.

Sam was born June 4, 1953, in Bartlesville, OK, to Sam and Bonnie Maxine (Combs) McClure. He grew up in Dewey, OK, and graduated from Dewey High School.

He married Rebecca "Becky" Lea Atkins on December 15, 1990, and the couple made their home in Bartlesville. Sam was an ordained minister with the Church of God. He also worked for the Dewey Public Schools as a custodian and for the Highland Park Baptist Church.

He loved playing games. Some of his favorites included Wahoo, Canasta, and Uno with his grandkids, winning every hand! He also enjoyed playing Mexican Train at the Dewey Nutrition Center. Other activities included participating in Western reenactment groups.

Sam is survived by his loving wife, Becky McClure; four children, Stephanie "McClure" Lewallen and husband Phillip of Arkansas, Samuel Henry McClure Jr. and wife Amy of Arkansas, Shane Miller and wife Marie of Copan, OK, and Brandy Miller Secondine and husband Joshua of Caney, KS; three siblings, Bonnie Maxine McClure Kordt of Arkansas, Roberta Clay of Broken Arrow, OK, John McClure and wife Glenda of Stillwater, OK; 13 grandchildren, Abigail Cowan and husband Tyler, Zoey Secondine, Macee Secondine, and Joshua Secondine II, all of Caney, KS; Gabriel Miller and Samantha Hadaway and husband Sam of Copan, OK, Jordan Miller of Bartlesville, OK, Rachel Pugh and husband Nicholas, Caleb Lewallen and wife Taylor, Deborah Lewallen, John Lewallen, Lane McClure, and Coleman McClure, all of Arkansas; four great-grandchildren with three more on the way, Waylon Cowan, Emma Hadaway, Hunter Hadaway, and Elisabeth Lewallen. He was also loved by a host of nieces and nephews … and those he met along the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bonnie McClure; his mother- and father-in-law, Lee and Melba Atkins; two sisters, Kathleen Frank and Donna Sue Suit; and nephew, Jason McClure.

Sam's family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029. Come and go visitation will also be on that same day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Dewey Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Joel Heid officiating. Interment will follow at the Dewey Cemetery. Pallbearers include Josh Secondine, Shane Miller, Nate Beck, Joe Beck, Christopher Atkins, Lane McClure, and Coleman McClure. Honorary pallbearers are Nate Beck, Joshua Secondine II and Mike Clay.
