Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Ellen Floreine Hays King Prock on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The service will be officiated by Mark Wright at the First Baptist Church of Dewey. Floreine Prock, 95, passed away from natural causes on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends Monday, August 31, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.

Floreine was born September 26, 1919, in Ochelata, OK to Samuel Roscoe Hays and Mary Scullawl Hays. Floreine's mother died when Floreine was 5 months old, so she was raised by her maternal grandparents, John and Caroline Scullawl. As a young girl, she attended Matoaka Baptist Church and was baptized in Daniels Creek. She grew up in Ochelata and graduated as an Oklahoma Honor Student in 1938 from Ochelata High School.
She married Eddie Hegwer in 1939 and had one child, Carolyn. Floreine and Jack King were married in 1947 and had two children, Donnie and Sue Ellen. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Dewey since 1966. She retired in 1979 from Phillips Petroleum after 36 years of service. She was a widow for 12 years and then in 1988, she married Brutus Prock.

Floreine is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Williams and husband Larry of Dewey, Sue Ellen Layton and husband Jesse of Bartlesville, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, an especially close cousin, Emma Lou Elam Gray, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers: her husband Verlon Donald (Jack) King, her husband Brutus Prock, and her son Verlon Donald (Donnie) King, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Journey Home, a non-profit end of life care facility in Bartlesville.
