DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

John (Jack) Inda, 91, died Sat., Dec. 22, 2018, at his son’s home in Dewey, OK.

John was born Oct. 28, 1927, to Frank and Agnes (Gross) Inda, in Guthrie, OK. John is a graduate of Dewey High School. He joined the Navy in November of 1944 - while in the reserves he was Fireman First Class V-6 USNR. In February 1945 he was called to active duty. He proudly served in the heart of the USS St. Paul as Boilerman First Class during WWII, Korean War, and the Chosin Reservoir Battle until his honorable discharge in October 1947. He won many awards for his military service, yet he would say he was simply doing what any young man at the time should do. John deeply loved his country but returned home and married the love of his life, Vivian Demory Inda, on Feb. 2, 1952.

John had a tractor business on the side, but his career was as a Research Technician at Phillips 66 Research Center. After his retirement from Phillips in 1986 after 32 years of service, he never quit working. Retirement simply meant he had more time to devote to his pride and joy - the farm. Until a few days before his death he could be found working at the farm.

John was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Demory Inda; son John (Jackie) Edward Inda Jr; four brothers Frank Inda, Joseph (Joe) Inda, Robert (Bob) Inda, Jim Inda, three sisters Dorothy Cleveland, Judy Wooste, Janice Dirkes; extended family, classmates, Navy colleagues, and friends.

He leaves his three sons: David Inda, Frank Inda, and Paul Inda. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tiffany Inda Holmes, Jeremy Inda, Dana Inda, Ashleigh Inda Carstens, Arik Inda, Andrew Inda, Aaron Inda, and Alijah Inda as well as nine great grandchildren, brother Peter Inda, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Wed. 12-8 and Thurs. 9-11. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dewey Public Schools FFA, 1 Bulldogger Rd, Dewey, OK 74029.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 27, at Dewey United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
