BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Charles Lee Holton, 76, of Vinita, Oklahoma, died Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Charles was born April 8, 1945, in Bartlesville, to parents Champ Clark Holton and Lola Emma (Croffut) Mattingly. He was always very close to his mother. She taught him, from a young age, hard work and the value of saving. He loved to save money! He collected piggy banks. He also enjoyed swimming in the Special Olympics. He was also very good with dates. He collected calendars and would watch them. He was ready for Christmas in September because he got to dress up as Santa Clause for the family children. He was known, by the family, for having a good sense of humor and was always smiling and laughing. He also really liked the nurses, especially the pretty ones!

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his mother in 1984 and father in 2001.

In 1985 after his mother passed away, and prior to his death, Charles moved into the Home of Hope in Vinita OK and lived there 36 years. He loved his home there and called them "his people."

He is survived by his two sisters, Ruth Winn and Shirley Hoppes, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27 from 9am to 8pm at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 28 at 10am at the Vinita Church of Christ and the burial will take place at 2pm at the Dewey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the Home of Hope at P.O. Box 903 in Vinita, Oklahoma 74301.
