Frank Guile Gwin, 82, of Dewey, joined the heavenly choir on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Frank was born August 21, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Frank “Pat” and Grayce Marion (Baston) Gwin. He grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa's Central High School in 1960. He later attended Oklahoma State University for a year and then transferred to the University of Tulsa, where he graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting.

Frank married the love of his life, Sue Ann Swan, on October 7, 1983, in Dewey, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Houston, Texas, for about 17 years before they returned to Dewey. Frank was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company as a computer hardware specialist for more than 20 years, retiring in 2001. He loved working with computers.

Music always played a big part in his life. As a child, he and his brother took guitar lessons and Frank was a member of the choir in high school. In his teenage years he joined a country and western band, and as an adult he was a member of a barbershop quartet in Houston. He also served as song leader and treasurer of Sugarland Church of God in Houston. After moving back to Dewey, Frank sang special music when requested at Dewey Church of the Nazarene.

Frank loved his four children very much and was active in their lives. He and Sue enjoyed traveling to visit their children and grandchildren in various states.

In addition to music, Frank's hobbies included bowling, golfing and playing tennis. Really any sport was his favorite sport and seemed to never get enough of it.

Frank is survived his loving wife, Sue Ann Gwin; four children, Stephen Ira Gwin, Kristi Draut and husband David, Jennifer Van der Werf and her husband Andrew, Christina Tholen and husband Kirk; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie, Nathan, Journey, Angel, Chandler, Trinity, Cami, Kenny, Curtis, Connor, Taylor, and Brooke; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lester Eugene Gwin; and a baby sister.

Frank's family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Come and go visitation will also be held from 10-8 on Wednesday and from 9-noon on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Dewey Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Joel Heid officiating. Interment will follow at Dewey Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
