Louise Phyllis Hewitt, age 89, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on October 14, 1936, in Jennings, Oklahoma, to Bernard Elden Johnson and Helen Kay (Conover) Johnson.

Louise was raised in Wynona, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Wynona High School. On June 21, 1971, she married Clifford Leon Hewitt, and together they shared many years of marriage and treasured memories.

Throughout her life, Louise was a hardworking woman with a caring heart. She worked for American Window and Mid State Camper and also did housekeeping for Sam and Mona Replogle, a married couple from her church. Louise was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could, and caring for others came naturally to her.

More than anything, Louise loved her family. She loved each of her grandchildren equally and treasured every opportunity she had to spend time with them. She enjoyed playing games and coloring with her grandchildren, taking care of her garden, going grocery shopping, and simply gathering together with family and friends.

Louise also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved cracking jokes. Her family will always remember the funny nicknames she made up for different foods. Those little things were simply part of who Louise was and are memories her family will continue to smile about for years to come.

Her faith was also an important part of her life. Louise loved going to church and especially enjoyed the hymns. She loved country music, with Dolly Parton among her favorites.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Peggy Cecil and Leonard Schumaker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, with another great-grandchild on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Leon Hewitt; her parents, Bernard Elden Johnson and Helen Kay Johnson; her son, George Washington Flud; her daughter, Francis Caroline Burt; her grandson, Thomas Allen Pleasant; and her siblings, Helen Cole, Betty Dilley, and Elemer Conover.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Funeral services celebrating Louise’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
