Roger DeWayne Kurth

Roger DeWayne Kurth, son of the late Gilbert Kurth and Bonnie Kurth, was born February 5, 1943, in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 82, following a long illness.

Roger graduated from Blackwell High School in 1961. He attended Tonkawa Community College and Oklahoma State University. On November 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Donnis Elaine Whittaker in Independence, Kansas. They moved to Neodesha, Kansas where he began his career in an automotive body and frame shop partnership with his father. He proceeded to Owner / Operator of multiple new and used car dealerships in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. He had a passion for all things cars and enjoyed restoring old classic cars and trucks as a hobby. After his retirement in 2004, they relocated to Maramec, Oklahoma, where they settled with their pugs and raised Boer goats as a hobby. He was proud to join the Maramec City Council where he served as a respected member for nearly 20 years. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Lewis Kurth; and one sister, Glenda Joyce Goodknight. Roger is survived by his wife, Donnis, of Maramec, Oklahoma, two daughters; Shelly Kasitz and her husband, Kevin, of Gainesville, Florida, and Stacy Kurth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and 3 grandsons; Joshua Kasitz of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Matthew Kasitz of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Jake Kasitz of Gainesville, Florida; other relatives and friends.
