John Alan Shorter
November 28, 1959 - May 12, 2025
John Alan Shorter was born November 28th, 1959, in Coffeyville, Kansas. John went to his eternal peace on May 12th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Elizabeth shorter. His siblings Peggy, Bill (CJ), Janis (Harold) and lastly Jackie (Gary). John was a devoted husband to his wife Loriann Shorter for 20 years. He is survived by his children Meagan (Matt), Kayla (Josh). He was a loving grandfather to his 5 grandchildren, Caden, Jack, Tyler, Hadley, and John Thomas.
John moved from Coffeyville to Tulsa in middle school. He quickly began liking cars from his brother-in-law Harold. He often got dropped off at the Tulsa Race Way as a teenager to watch on the weekends. When he was in high school, he bought his first car a 1969 Dodge Superbee. After high school he became an electrician until he got a job with his dad at Zelisons.
He worked at Zelisons for 8 years until he decided to start his own company repairing equipment. He owned his own business for 31 years. During that time, he meet his loving wife Loriann shorter in 2002.
John had many hobbies. He loved his gardening and making his yard look immaculate. John loved to vacation with his family in his camper. He liked to go hunting and fishing with his grandsons and most recently SXS riding. He will be missed and loved forever.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, OK with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
