Funeral services for Robert Gary “Bob” Carr, of Collinsville, were held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Collinsville, OK. Reverend Dr. Tim Prock officiated and burial was in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, OK. Casket bearers were Ron Carr, Charles Eddy, Ron Mixer, Richard Hayworth, Ernie Brazeal, and Larry Thomas. Honorary casket bearers were Jim Carr, George Ketchum, and Robert Fitch.


Bob was born January 17, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ralph Carr and Pidgeon (Squire) Burden. He passed away April 28, 2013 in Collinsville, OK at the age of 67.

Bob worked as an American Airlines avionics mechanic. He enjoyed welding, working on cars, and working on watches. He loved having a spirited debate and watching movies. He also enjoyed second-hand shopping. Bob loved spending time with people; especially his wife of 45 years, Kay, his longtime friend and brother, Ron Carr, his son, his family, and his best friend, Ernie Brazeal. The Carr family extends a heartfelt thank you to Bob’s exceptional nurse, Kathy January, whom he enjoyed spending time with as well. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him; especially his grandson, Michael, who called him “Papa.”
 

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Kay Carr of the home; son and daughter-in-law, James “Jim” and Angela Carr of Collinsville; grandson, Michael Carr; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Roselan Carr of Glenwood Springs, CO; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Maggie Fitch of Bartlesville; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Barbara Ketchum of Copan, OK.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Carr and Pidgeon Burden.


Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
