Ida was born June 5, 1920 in Cedar, AR to George Wiley and Mamie (Coker) Kendrick. She passed away July 15, 2014 in Owasso, OK.

Ida was born as Iderdale Kendrick and later changed her name to Ida Dell Kendrick. She moved to Oklahoma when she was about 4 or 5 years old. She met C.W. “Buster” Butler when she was a teenager. They were married on July 14, 1936 at the courthouse in Tulsa. Her husband C.W. was born as Jack Herbert Butler and also later changed his name to Clarence William Butler.

Ida was a resident of Collinsville for 45 years. Ida said that her parents would play music at dances and would have her get up and sing “It’s A Long Way to Tipperary” and “A Long, Long Way To Go” when she was a little girl. She loved to joke and play tricks on people, but her main and only concern was that her children, grandchildren, and her entire family were saved. The day she came home from the hospital, she was witnessing to the people who worked at St. John. When she came home, Ida would talk to her home health aides about the Lord.

She was always the life of the party. She passed away one day after her and dad’s anniversary and her dad’s home going. Ida would want everyone to recite the sinner’s prayer and check their hearts to make sure that they were right with God. Ida always said that she wanted a great big family reunion in Heaven, and that we all better be there. She is finally home with her sweetheart Buster as she talked about. The night before she passed away, Ida talked about her two sons and mom that she missed very much. She would cry and say “If I could talk to her one more time and ask her what I should when trouble arose”.

No more pain, heartaches, or trouble ever again. Momma, we love you and miss you but promise to see you again in Heaven. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

She is survived by her children, Lois Marie Givens of Collinsville, Mamie Lee Dick and husband Lonnie of Sperry, Jerrie Kay Baldridge and husband Tony of Collinsville, Ronnie Morn Butler and wife Mary Lou of Okemah, and Gary Ray Butler of Collinsville; grandchildren, Debra Carmack of Ramona, Donnie Butler of Sperry, Sharon Henry of Skiatook, Danny Ward of Collinsville, Ronnie Ward of Tulsa, Ronnetta Lay of KS, Ellen Denker of KS, Randy Butler of KS, Marsha Mullen of KS, Steven Dick of Sperry, David Dick of Sperry, and Mike Mason of Sperry; 41 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; pastor, prayer partner and nephew, L.C. Headrick of Claremore; and many other relatives and friends.
