Robert L. “Bob” McCalman was born October 26, 1922, to James Otho and Beatrice McCalman at Webber Falls, Oklahoma, and passed away in Lakewood, Colorado, on August 7, 2016, at the age of 93.

He graduated from high school in Stilwell, Oklahoma, and then attended Oklahoma Military Academy where he graduated in May 1942. Bob went into the Air Force in June 1942, and flew 50 missions in B-17s with the 15th Air Force in Italy, including one shuttle run to Russia. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal with palm leaf, Russian Commemorative Medal, Greece Commemorative Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, and other citations. He finished his schooling at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Bob married the love of his life, Dolores June Bensing on January 16, 1943, and together they had a daughter, Carla, and twin sons, Kerry and Kevin. Dolores passed away in 1998, and on June 18, 2006, Bob married a long-time friend, Alma Mae Hall.

Bob worked for Ohio Oil Company (now Marathon Oil) for 31 years as a landman, then at 55 retired and went independent. Over his career, he worked in Hobbs, New Mexico; Wichita Falls, Texas; and Midland, Texas. Bob was a member of the Commemorative Air Force, 483rd Bombardment Group Association and a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
 

Bob is survived by his sister Betty Jo McCalman, brother James McCalman, sons Kevin McCalman (wife Kathy) and Kerry McCalman (wife Kerri), three grandchildren Richard McKee, Robbie McKee, and Sarah Houston, four great-grandchildren Chelsey  Gorter (husband Sterling), Morgan McKee, Brooklyn and Dylan Houston, one great grandson Aleksander Gorter, and many cousins and friends.
 

Bob was preceded in death by his wives and daughter Carla McCalman.
 

A memorial service will be held On October 17, 2016, at 10:00 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK
