Doris Evelyn Malcom, 96, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Tulsa, died Friday, May 26, 2017, in Blanchard. Oklahoma.   The daughter of Jesse McCleary and Lena Pearl (Anderson) McCleary, she was born January 6, 1921, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

She married Riley Grant Malcom on November 29, 1942 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Doris worked in sales and bookkeeping prior to her marriage, then as secretary and bookkeeper for their business, Malcom TV Service in Tulsa. Grant and Doris were faithful members of Carbondale Assembly of God Church in Tulsa for nearly 50 years. Doris enjoyed bowling, sewing, needlework, and embroidery all her life, making beautiful and unique projects. Doris was a great cook and everyone in her family enjoyed her fabulous desserts. She used her bookkeeping skills to help several family members with managing their money. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Riley Grant Malcom; one brother, Raymond McCleary; and two sisters, Ann Almon and Joan Turnham.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Malcom of Allen, Texas, and Sharon Akin and her husband, Mike, of Allen, Texas; three grandchildren, Amy Olsen and husband, Scott, of Wylie, Texas, Alan Akin and wife, Kayoko, of Long Beach, California, and Travis Akin and wife, Laura, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; seven great granddaughters, Nozomi, Sumi, Kimi, Elise, Lila, Vivienne, and Faith; one foster great granddaughter, Diamond; nieces and nephews, Linda and Jim Jennings of Broken Arrow, Sue Turnham Heustis of Sand Springs, and Ray McCleary of Mt. Dora, Florida; a brother-in-law, Don Malcom and his wife, Barbara, of Claremore; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2017, at Carbondale Assembly of God Church, 2135 West 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74107. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
