  Date of Death 18 April 1984

  J. S. "'Stew" Gammon, 73, Houston, Texas, died late Wednesday evening in a Houston hospital. His funeral will be at 2 PM Monday in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery at Tulsa with the Reverend Paul D. Bowles officiating.

  Masonic graveside services will follow, conducted by Lodge No. 140 of Miami.

  Services are under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home, with Sunday visitation.

  Gammon was born July 26, 1910, at Springfield, Missouri, the son of James N. And Laura Gammon. After graduating from Central high school in Tulsa, he attended the Oklahoma School of Accounting.

  Gammon and Mary Faye Searcy were married July 5, 1930, at Chandler. He was employed by the Banfield Packing Company as plant manager in Tulsa, Miami, and Enid.

  After retiring in Yoakum, Texas, he returned to Miami and later moved to Houston. Gammon was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Miami and was a Rotarian.

  Gammon is survived by his wife Mary Faye of the home in Houston; a son, James "Jim" Gammon of Littleton, Colorado; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Marjorie) Barrow, Portola Valley, California, and Mrs. Ron (Frances) Wheeler of Houston; nine grandchildren; a brother, John Gammon of Miami; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Ethel) Bush, Mrs. Burrell (Louise) Wagoner, Mrs. LeRoy (Helen) Mitchell and Mrs. Marcella Walker, all of Miami.
