Funeral Service: A private family graveside service will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Bixby First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jessica Moffatt Seay & Rev. Mark Whitley
Lucy Burt Anderson was born on May 26, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee to Walter Rogers Burt & Dove (Craddock) Burt. She passed from this life on October 31, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 5 months & 5 days. Lucy was a well-loved, longtime resident of the Bixby community. She was a native of Mississippi and always lived her life with a high degree of Southern grace and charm. She was a graduate of "Ole Miss" where he was very active in the arts and music departments. She was a member of the Bixby First United Methodist Church where she served as choir director for over 20 years. She was also active over the years in the Tulsa Opera and arts community. She will forever be remembered as the "life of the party" and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 41 years, Gary Anderson, whom she married on August 25, 1967 in Grenada, Mississippi as well as by 1 daughter; Leigh Anderson Jackson of Bixby, 2 grandsons; Ethan Wallace & Alexander Bruce Jackson and numerous church family, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 1 son; Gary Allen Anderson on July 12, 1988. Memorials in Lucy's name should be directed to the Bixby First United Methodist Church.
