Graveside Services for Gene Webster Clay, of Owasso, were held Wednesday, February 06, 2013. Phillip Johnson officiated and burial was in Duck Creek Cemetery in Liberty Mounds, OK.

Gene was born March 31, 1929 in Leonard, OK to James Alfred and Virginia Ann (Roberts) Clay. He passed away January 25, 2013 in Owasso, OK at the age of 83.

Gene’s family was farmers and he was the last of 21 children in a blended family. Gene and his late wife Betty were avid motorcycle riders in the Retreads motorcycle club for many years. Their travels took them all across the nation. His other interests included helping with the steam show. Since Gene was a huge dog lover, his dog, Frosty was taught to ride with him on his bike. In his later years, Gene had little Imp, and she was his pride and joy. He would often say “I’m a man with my dog.” We had pinned a book of poems and he took pride in giving them to his friends. He was loved by his family and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Garrel “Gary” Clay and wife Dianna; grandchildren, Garrett, Bryan and wife Tara, and Kristin Clay; great-granddaughter, Haleigh; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J Clay.
