Carroll Flynn Edwards

August 8, 1941 - July 29, 2007

Funeral service for "Coach" Carroll Flynn Edwards, age 65, Frederick, Oklahoma, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Lighthouse Cathedral, Frederick, Oklahoma.
Mr. Edwards died Sunday, July 29, 2007, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Burial at Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home.
Carroll Edwards was born August 8, 1941 in Bowie, Texas, to Virgil Ray and Lorena [Hachtel] Edwards. At 11, his family moved to Frederick. He attended Frederick Public Schools. He married Josephine "Josie" Garza, May 20, 1960, in Vernon, Texas.
Carroll worked for the City of Frederick for 40 years, before retiring in 2002. He continued to work with his sons in their lawn care business. His baseball legacy of 40 years began with sons and continued with oldest grandson, Coti. Time will only tell the lives he has touched. He was a member of Lighthouse Cathedral, living by Eccl. 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might."
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Josie in January 2006; one brother: LaGrande, 1993; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law and one nephew.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law: Ricky Don Edwards and Kenny Wayne Edwards and wife Kellie, all of Frederick, Oklahoma; three grandsons: J.J., Coti Flynn and Kyle Ray; three granddaughters: Jennifer Kristin, Kristan Michelle and Tiffany Nicole; three brothers: Alvie Edwards and wife Rita, of Vernon, Texas; Gayle Edwards and wife Shirlene, of Frederick, Oklahoma; and Terry Edwards and wife Janice, of Bethany, Oklahoma; two sisters: Sugar Darlene Mitchell and Teresa Rhodes, both of Frederick, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial contributions to benefit the Greyhound Baseball Facility are being taken at the funeral home.
