Jerry Gore, 89, lifelong Texhoma resident, passed away Saturday evening, August 15, 2026 at the Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Texas.
The son of Worth and Maycle (Royce) Gore, he was the first twin born April 12, 1937 in Texhoma, Oklahoma. Jerry attended school in Texhoma, was a member of the Texhoma First Christian Church, Square Dance Club in the 70's and 80's, and active member of the No Man's Land Senior Citizen's for thirty years.
He was united in marriage to Winnie Gass on August 6, 1965 in Clayton, New Mexico. Winnie passed away in August of 2018.
Jerry worked for Texhoma schools as janitor, maintenance and school bus driver, he drove a fuel truck in Texhoma for two different fuel companies, and retired after thirty years of employment with Brown's Meat Lock in Stratford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Maycle Gore, his wife, Winnie, five sisters: Pauline Smith, Jewell Thomas, Lucille Ingle, Almenia Huddleston and Mary Lou Farmer-Wiebe, eight brothers: Ray, Howard, Mike, Leroy, Guy, Billy Wayne, Bob and Jack Gore.
Survivors include four children: Gerald Gore and wife, Brenda of Scott City, Kansas, Desso Gore and wife, Tracy of Hinton, Oklahoma, Danny Gore of Texhoma, and Jerri Lou Green of Texhoma. Survivors also include three siblings: his twin brother, Perry Gore and wife, Clyda of Ringwood, Oklahoma, Billy Don Oldaker and wife, Sharon of Lexington, Indiana, and Ola Mae Rhoden of Booker, Texas, sister-in-laws, Ruby Gore of Boise City, Oklahoma, and Vicki Gore of Big Spring, Texas, 14 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Saturday morning, August 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Texhoma First Christian Church with Pastor Earl Buchan officiating. Family inurnment will be in the Texhoma Cemetery.
