Jose Horacio Padilla Martinez

Jose Horacio “El Verde/Mr. Green” Padilla Martinez, 77, of Guymon passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
The son of Jose O. and Teresa (Martinez) Padilla, he was born May 6, 1945 in El Provenir, Chihuahua Mexico.
Jose and Consuelo Lopez were united in marriage on November 11, 1969 in Guadalupe, Chihuahua Mexico. The family moved to Guymon from El Paso in 1989. Jose was engaged in farming and ranching, retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Teresa Padilla, daughter, Claudia and son, Sergio Padilla, sister, Irma Padilla, and brother, Santiago Padilla
.
Jose is survived by his wife, Consuelo of the home; six children: Laura and husband Jose Luis Rivera, Cesar and wife, Concepcion Padilla, Veronica and husband, Martin Montelongo, Angelica Padilla, Mayra and husband, Humberto Moreno, and Ruben and wife, Concha Padilla all of Guymon. Survivors also include 18 grandchildren: Claudia, Octavio, Krystal, Gaby, Gladys, Lizette, Evelyn, Briseyda, Ayden, Sergio, Juan, Miguel, Brisa, Lezlie, Ivan, Kiona, Aislyn and Camila; 14 great grandchildren: Bryan, Isiah, Jaylen, Jazlyn, Elijah, Arialy, Esteban, Adela, Kayden, Lizbeth, Martin, Gracelyn, Nathan and Madalynn; brothers and sisters: Felicitas and husband Andres Saenz, Olivia and husband, Guadalupe Lopez, Omar Padilla, Rodolfo and Oscar Padilla, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary services will be Sunday evening, January 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday morning, January 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Very Rev. Christopher Brashears celebrant. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
