Carol Garcia, 71, of Guymon passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at the BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
The daughter of Francisco Poncho and Edith Marie (Rouliard) Martinez, Carol Marie was born August 2, 1951 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Her mother died when she was young and being the oldest daughter, she helped raise her siblings.
Carol and Jose Garcia Salamanca met in September of 1976 and were married on January 10, 1977 in Guymon. They made Guymon their home. Carol was a devoted homemaker and loving grandmother. She was always involved in her family's sporting events at Kid’s Inc. and while in school, and was known by all the kids on the field as “Grandma”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and brother Peter Martinez.
Survivors include her husband, Jose G. Garcia Salamanca of the home; one daughter, Karen Medina and husband, Humberto; one son, Willie Garcia; five grandchildren: Omar Medina and Jojo Rios, Javier Medina, Michael Medina and Karime Duran, Jaylin Medina and Jadyn Garcia; two great granddaughters, Yanidez Medina and Kamila Medina; one sister, Linda Martinez; and four brothers: Frank, Johnny, Frankie and LeeRoy Martinez.
Rosary will be held Thursday evening, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, September 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Father John Mejia officiating. Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
