Joyce Allene Purser Forman

furman-j-a

February 16, 1938 - April 8, 2026

Joyce Allene (Purser) Forman was born on February 16th, 1938, in Washita, OK, to James Melton and Lavonna (Turner) Purser. She passed away on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at her home.

Joyce and R.C. Forman were married August 8th, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Clayton, NM. They made their home in Guymon, OK. To this union, they had 3 children. Kathleen Y'Vonne, James Clifford and Robert Clifton. Joyce spent many years as a homemaker and tending to children in the nursery at the First Baptist Church. After the death of her husband, Joyce started babysitting. What started out as a small journey, turned into 14 years of many children being loved at "Grandma Joyce's House". She was so proud to be a licensed in-home daycare provider. She worked hard to keep up with all the required training to stay licensed. The love she had for all the children is what drove her. There are so many stories to tell of her time as grandma to so many children, but the statute of limitations might still be in effect for some of those. She loved all her children, grandchildren, daycare kids and friends fiercely. There are very few young adults or children that don't know "You are my sunshine", "this little light of mine" or "Jesus Loves Me".

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lavonna Purser. Her husband RC Forman, brother Buford Purser, brother James Purser and granddaughter Candis Nakole Forman.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kathleen & Jerry Moore. Son, James Forman, Son Robert & Jenni Forman. Brother Gary & Jody Purser, sisters-in-law MaryAnn Purser and Yolanda Purser. Grandchildren Sheena Moore, Desiree & Emily Beaty, Rhonda & Darren Gossett, Brenton Forman, Lacie Forman and Kaleigh Forman. Great grandchildren Jase, Arya, Brynlee, Kali, Zackary & Thaemon. Along with many nieces and nephews. In the wise words of Sophia Petrillo "After 80, Every year without a headstone is a milestone!" Joyce had 8 milestones.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oklahoma Panhandle Partners. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 13th, 2:00 PM at Elmhurst Cemetery. With Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.
