Doris Faye (Goble) Ferguson, 97, lifelong Oklahoma Panhandle resident passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 10, 2026 at her home in Guymon surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Carl and Ellen Elisabeth (Reust) Goble, she was born October 10, 1928 in Hardesty, Oklahoma.
Doris was a homemaker and had worked as a CNA and a CMA at Dunaway Manor for many years. She also cared for many children in her home and formed many special bonds with those families. Doris was a lifelong member of the Guymon Church of the Nazarene.
Doris and Joe Ferguson were united in marriage on June 21, 1949 in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2011.
In addition to her husband, Captain Joe Ferguson, she was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ellen Goble; three sons: Ronald Ausbun, Leon Ferguson and Gerald Ferguson; grandson, Brandon Baugh; five brothers: infant, Ronald Wayne, John, Paul, James and Leland Goble; and sister, Carletta Goble.
Survivors include four children: Anita Ferguson of Guymon, Paul Ferguson of Amarillo, Melissa Baugh and husband, Eryn of Carrollton, Texas and Russell Ferguson and wife, Kristine of Guymon; nine grandchildren: Melanie and husband, D.J. Dickerson, Leon Ferguson, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Chris Ferguson, Megan, Matthew and Jeremy Baugh, Terry and Johnny Ausbun, and Kameron Lucero; along with numerous great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
The family will greet friends at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home on Friday evening, June 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.
