Viva "Vi" Mae [Ball] Shannon

DUNCAN - Funeral for Viva "Vi" Mae Shannon, 70, Duncan, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Western Heights Baptist Church, Duncan, with the Rev. Mike Roberson officiating.

Mrs. Shannon died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at a Lawton hospital.

Burial will be at Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, Marlow.

She was born March 19, 1933, in Texas to Lloyd Bert Ball and Viva Icle Wilkerson Ball. She married Robert David Shannon on Oct. 10, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He died July 7, 1996. She lived in the Marlow-Duncan area all her life and was a semi-retired personel director at Comanche Public Schools. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sherrie Shannon, Duncan; a grandson, Jeff Sides and his wife, Carrie, Duncan; a great- granddaughter, Cara Sides, Duncan; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Esco and Lola Ball, Roseburg, Ore.; Carroll and Carrol Ann Ball, Sacramento, Calif.; and Bill and Geraldine Ball, Rush Springs; a sister, Lea Foote, Idaho Falls, Idaho; a brother-in-law, Ernest Reed, Rush Springs; and a sister-in-law, Eula Mae Ball, Roseburg.

Her parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
