Max Eugene "Skeeter" Reeder

Max "Skeeter" Eugene Reeder, 79, Chickasha, OK, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Chickasha. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Steve Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Hope Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Max was born Friday, February 21, 1930 in The Hope Community of Stephens County, to Lyle Harold Reeder and Roberta [Scott] Reeder.

Skeeter was raised in the Hope Community and has lived in Chickasha for the past 30 years.

He married Dorothy Plowman Feb. 16, 1963 in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1993.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war.

He voluteered at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha.

Skeeter loved to restore old tractors and enjoyed woodworking and staying busy. He was an avid gardener and loved to give away his vegetables.

Skeeter was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

Survivors include, Brother, Bill Reeder and wife Barbara of Rush Springs, OK, 2 Sisters, Virginia Minson of Marlow, OK, and Wilma Brooks of Oklahoma City, OK, 11 nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Peggy Shultz, and 2 nephews, Harold and Billy Brooks.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha, OK or The American Diabetes Association.
