Christella Ruth [Turley] Hendershot

Christella Ruth Hendershot 46, of Comanche passed from this life, peacefully at home, Easter Sunday morning April 11, 2004 to be with her Lord and Savior and loved ones in Heaven.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Comanche with the Rev. Gene Jorgenson officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Christtella was born January 16, 1958, in Aurora, Illinois, to Russell Sr. and Jimmie Ruth Cowan Turley. She married John Victor Hendershot on July 18, 1980 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant and a caregiver.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, John Victor III and Joni Hendershot of Duncan; a daughter, Traci Leigh Hendershot of the home; a grandson, Ethan Joseph of Duncan; her mother, Jimmie Ruth Turley of Marlow; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell L. and Pattie Turley and Richard L. and Terri Turley, all of Duncan; her mother-in-law, Ruth Hendershot of Sayre; a sister-in-law, Vicki Hendershot of Washington, D.C.; a brother-in-law, Brent Hendershot of Sayre; three nephews, Brennan, Jacob and Logan; four nieces, Dallas, Emily, Kimberly and Sarah, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russsell L. Turley Sr. and her grandparents, Jim anfd Mable Cowan and Lloyd and Tressie Turley. Bearers will be Brent Hendershot, Brannan Hendershot, Jacob Hendershot, Jonathan Anderson, Leland Morris and Lynn Wilson.
