James Robert "Hog" & Anne Marie Nelson

James "Hog" Nelson was born on October 17, 1945 in Nicut, Oklahoma to Sarah
Luella (Walters) Nelson and George Dallas Nelson and passed away on November 3,
2023 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was married to Anne (Falleur) Nelson on November
17, 1995 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. James was a veteran of the United States
Army and retired from the Cherokee Nation Housing Authority. He loved sports and
played softball until he was 50 years old. He loved to hunt and fish and could
skin a deer in 15 minutes. He served on the Rural Water District 7 Board and was
an avid supporter of his grandchildren's activities.
Survivors are wife, Anne of the home; two sons, Chris Nelson and Toka of
Sallisaw, OK and Blake Nelson and Ruth of Camden Point, MO; one step-daughter,
Sara Poindexter and Austin of Sallisaw, OK; one step-son, Josh Randolph of
Sallisaw, OK; 10 grandchildren, Tayler, Trevan, Creed, Chloe, Paisley, Brigham,
Keeley, Jaxton, Gavin and Gabby; one great-grandchild, Grayson; and several
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and sisters, Dallas
Nelson, Jr., Maxine Brown, Aileen Jones, Nina Brown, Virginia Aronson, Ramona
Sims, Jerrene Hoskinson, Bill Nelson and Melvin Nelson; and several nieces and
nephews.
Active Pallbearers will be Chris Nelson, Blake Nelson, Dallas Jones, Jr., Creed
Nelson, Michael Hoskinson, Dallas Nelson, Jr., Austin Poindexter, Braden
Hoskinson and Pride Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The Old Man's Group, Monday Night Choir Practice
Group, Jim Hyles, Jimmy Dale Rogers and Roger Sharp.
Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Monday and 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory
Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM Tuesday.
