He was born November 10, 1931 in Carlisle community, Gore, Oklahoma, the son of John Newton Hall Montgomery and Zelpha (Ward) Montgomery. He was married to Peggy Sue Haskins.
Survivors are: Wife, Peggy of the home; 3 sons,Thomas Moffat Montgomery III and wife Montie Lou of Muskogee, OK, Schuyler Ward Montgomery and wife Bobbie of Gore, OK and John Bradford Montgomery and wife Diana of Gore, OK.; 9 grandchildren, Thomas Moffat Montgomery IV and wife Sarah, Necia Hailey Montgomery and fiance Kendall Greuel, Kimberly Jo Decker and husband Steve, Jonathan Sheffield Montgomery and wife Tanya, Whitney Jo Holland and husband Matt, Colton Ward Montgomery and fiance Taralee, James Caleb Montgomery, Bradford Jordan Montgomery and wife Aubrey, Brooke Ashton Montgomery and fiance Layne Smith; 9 great grandchildren.;1 sister, Shirley Montgomery Smith of Oktaha, OK.;1 brother, James Montgomery of Sallisaw, OK. Several other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings: Harlan, Hazel, Ewing Ward, J.D. "Buster", Jack and Margie
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11 am at Round Mountain Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Gore.Viewing will be Tuesday 2 – 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Gore, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 pm.
Active Pallbearers are Jonathan Sheffield Montgomery, Thomas Moffat Montgomery IV, James Caleb Montgomery, Bradford Jordan Montgomery, Colton Ward Montgomery, Matt Holland Montgomery.Honorary Pallbearers are Kimberly Jo Decker, Whitney Jo Holland, Brooke Ashton Montgomery and Necia Hailey Montgomery.
